If you are a newcomer to paintball then you may find it very difficult to select a marker, primarily because there are so many models on the market. As you advance in the sport you will, no doubt, want to upgrade. Even that can be a challenging task. However, there is one name that has distinguished its name in the industry for quality, reliability, and innovation. The ultimate marker of choice for discriminating paintballers is the Angel paintball gun.

The Angel paintball marker was introduced in the mid 1990s and developed by engineer John Rice. What makes this particular gun so unique is the use of electropneumatic technology which results in a smooth semi-automatic action.

Angel Paintball Sports, a British manufacturer, distributes their popular line of Angel paintball products from various distribution hubs around the globe.

With Angel’s superior quality and advanced technology comes a price tag that may be out of reach for many. Markers sell for just under $1000 but if you are serious about getting the most out of your paintball experience an Angel marker is well worth the investment. Many tournament players are particularly fond of Angel products. For many paintballers the Angel is considered the “dream gun.”

If you are into tinkering with your gun, modifications, and upgrades then the Angel is probably not for you. Other than a barrel kit an Angel marker comes just about as good as it gets. About the only thing you will ever have to do is to tune your gun for your particular needs. Fortunately, Angel comes with a well documented color manual with all the info you will need for disassembly and reassembly.

Angel paintball guns are lightweight, incredibly reliable, and shoot very fast with great accuracy. Also important, these guns look super cool.

These guns are definitely NOT the best choice for kids and should be used primarily by older teens and adults. In the event that a child has access to an Angel marker then adult supervision is recommended.

Angel also offers a line of gear that further adds to the paintball experience. Just as is the case with the guns, Angel gear features first rate quality. You will be impressed with the line of jerseys, pants, masks, vests, gloves, headbands, wristband, and more. There is also a line of t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, tops, and hats for those who want to proudly display their favorite paintball brand.

Additionally, Angel also manufactures gear bags and specialty bags that help give you that professional paintball player swagger.

Of course, firing your paintball gun at home is generally less than desirable, but Angel offers a device that allows you to fire at will. The product is called an A-Box which provides you with a completely safe enclosed environment for testing and firing your gun. The A-Box sells for just under $300. So, it really comes down to, “How badly do you want to fire your gun at home?”

If you really want to take your paintball performance to the next level then start saving your pennies for, arguably the best, the Angel paintball gun.

There is just something about a paintball vest that expresses your commitment to the game. In fact, even with an old t-shirt and jeans that added vest gives you the appearance of a serious competitor. So, the question arises, which is the best paintball vest?

Actually that question is hard to answer. Just as it is difficult to say with all certainty that one particular paintball gun is the best…so it is with paintball gear. And when it comes down to the best vest there are numerous choices and a variety of different kinds of vests and applications.

What are you trying to accomplish? What’s your style of game? What image to do you desire to portray? Are you a part-time player (just for fun)? Are you a tournament player or a woodlands player? Are you going for a team look or a military style look? What items and accessories do you need to carry with you on the field of battle?

If you are going for the camo, military style look, check out the Tippmann Assault Paintball Vest or the Tippmann Patrol Paintball Vest. These vests provide the ultimate level of function, performance and durability for the Woodsball player. The Assault Vest features 2 large grenade pockets, tank pouch, 2 utility pockets, radio pouch, and pull-down ID panel. The Patrol Vest is similar but without as much pocket availability. They range in price from about $70 to $100.

For a few dollars more you may find a Full Clip Gen 2 Konflict Assault Vest to your liking. It comes with 12 pouches, 5 pockets including a total of 17 individual compartments to hold your paint, gear and hydration bladder. This fully adustable vest comes with reinforced stitching for durability, external padding and internal meshing for comfort.

Still in this same style vest at a little cheaper price (under $50) is the RAP4 Counterstrike Paintball Vest. It holds up to 6 pods and a tank, includes multiple pockets, pull-down ID/ map flap, detachable cell phone or radio pouch, accessory rings…and more. A good value for the money.

If you are looking for a paintball vest that is more lightweight but is still easier accessorized then you may find the Angel Fat Boy Molle Vest w/ Accessories more relevant to your needs. This product is a classic Molle vest made to take any packs and pouches that use the Molle system to allow the user to fully customize their rig to get the best comfort and equipment out in the field. Molle (pronounced Molly) is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment which is commonly used by the US military.

This Angel vest comes with 5 accessories:

• 1 – FAT BOY MOLLE POD HOLDER
• 1 – FAT BOY MOLLE POUCH
• 1 – FAT BOY MOLLE BOTTLE POUCH
• 1 – FAT BOY MOLLE RADIO POUCH
• 1 – FAT BOY MOLLE MULTI POUCH

The Angel Fat Boy Molle Vest lists for under $60.

Obviously, the more you carry onto the field of battle the slower you will be able to maneuver. For a competitive edge you may want to consider the real reason for wearing a vest. Is it about function or looking cool? Often times the desire to look cool can slow you down to the point of early elimination.
Therefore it’s up to you to decide if you will really benefit from a cumbersome paintball vest.

Paintball is great fun and can be, if you catch the bug, incredibly competitive. Once you become hooked then you begin to look for everything that you can to give you that competitive edge that will turn you into a consistent winner. When that happens your quest goes beyond just toting the best gun, you also must also be outfitted with the finest gear. No longer will an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt do. Now you must wear the uniform of a warrior including a mask, jersey, vest, gloves, and paintball pants.

Angel A-cam Paintball Pants

Angel A-cam Paintball pants provide you with lightweight performance to give you the freedom of movement that you need for running, bending, and crouching. More than lightweight these pants are also functional as well as durable.

A-cam pants come in the following sizes:
X-Small – 22-36″
Small – 24-38″
Medium – 26-40″
Large – 28-42″
X-Large – 30-44″
XX-Large – 32-46″

Angel A-cam paintball pants are lightweight due to their polyester/nylon construction. They also have been fashioned in a baggy cut which gives you the full range of movement that you need for active play. Also important is “motion actuated venting” that permits the flow of air keeping you cool in the heat of battle. Dropping to your knees in a hurry is a natural part of the game and these pants come prepared with integrated knee pads with reinforced ballistic nylon.

These pants also come with twin Neoprene pod pockets for toting additional gear. The pockets are also emblazoned with the Angel logo to add to the super-cool look.

The pants are fully lined with aertex polyester and come with an X-Wide waste band with internal anti-pinch elasticized silicon friction strip to prevent slippage, twin extra wide adjustable straps with a full Velcro anchor, wide loops to accommodate an extra belt, and twin Angel pop studs for added security. Let’s face it, nothing can slow your battle advance faster that pants that want to fall down or out of place.

You will also like the fact that the pants come is 5 different colors and that there are matching A-Cam jerseys available.

Angel pants are tested for 18 months in WDP’s rigorous design/test laboratory. By the time they make it to the market you can be certain that these pants are ready for anything. If you are looking for the lightest and toughest pants on the market then Angel pants are just what you need.
In addition to the popular A-cam style pants Angel also features their Airtime line of paintball pants (different design but the same high quality).

In fact, all Angel gear is made to be coordinated making it possible to even go so far as to create a uniform for yourself or you paintball team. Best of all, when you go with the Angel brand you are demonstrating to your competitors that you are committed to the very best.

If you are ready to take your game to the next level then it’s time you look the part. Wear your Angel jersey and paintball pants with pride.

From head to toe you want to look that part. In fact, you are not alone. Just look around the paintball playing field at all that gear: helmets, masks, paintball jerseys, vests, pants, and a whole lot more. Even the NFL would be hard-pressed to provide better attire than what some people wear to play a game that closely resembles war.

Of course, players have long been big on camouflage, but now the game is evolving into a look that is more coordinated, more team-like. Along with the finest gun that money can buy, today’s serious players are also going for the hottest look.

If you have invested in a top of the line marker, like an Angel, then you are likely very passionate about your brand of choice. One of the fastest and easiest ways to show off your enthusiasm is by sporting a coordinated paintball jersey.

Angel Pro X Paintball Jersey
The Angel Pro X Paintball Jersey is Angel’s finest jersey. This jersey is super-cool in appearance. It features a V-Neck with Lycra collar, plentiful areas of air-flow mesh panels for enhanced ventilation, integrated full length neoprene elbow shock absorption areas, and thumb loop cuffs.

Consequently, in addition the looking the part, you also have greater protection from the inevitable pounding your body takes from a barrage of paintballs.

The Pro X comes in both black and red patterns and sells for just under $55.

Angel A-Cam Crossover Paintball Jersey
Another popular product is the Angel A-Cam Crossover Paintball Jersey that sells for about $8 cheaper than the Pro X. This jersey Full length embossed neoprene elbow shock absorption areas features a camouflage pattern, max air-flow areas, V-Neck design with mesh collar, and thumb loop cuffs. By the way, the thumb loop cuffs protect the backs of your hands while leaving your fingers free for firing your gun.

The A-Cam comes in black, olive, and slate gray and it is one of the sharpest looking paintball jerseys on the market.

Angel A-Cam Paintball Jersey
If you are looking for a lightweight and durable jersey then the Angel A-Cam paintball jersey is just right for you. The style differs slightly from the Crossover version listed previously. It is constructed from a strong anti-pill polyester material which makes it a very technically designed jersey.

Elastic comfort cuffs keep the Angel A-Cam paintball jersey from either sliding up or down your arm. The V-neck design of the Angel A-Cam jersey gives you a flexible cut that allows for easy body movement.

Although listed at $44.95 these jerseys can frequently be found on sale at a tremendous savings.

All Angel A-Cam paintball jerseys are hand or machine washable and should either be drip or tumble dried.

Angel Arabis Paintball Jersey
Another Angel design is the Angel Arabis Paintball Jersey. It features an impressive tactical design, technical synthetic fibers to aid heat dispersion, padded zones for comfort and freedom of movement, and an adjustable inner valance that allows the jersey to be used as a carrying pouch as well as allowing you to achieve the perfect fit. It, too, lists for $44.95 and olive and tan.

Angel Fly Paintball Jersey
Also available is the Angel Fly Paintball Jersey that is similar to the Aribis with a slightly different style. It also sells for about the same price and comes in olive, red, royal blue, and slate gray.

Matching pants are available for each of the Angel jersey styles. You can also save a little money by buying a jersey and pants combo.

Angel paintball jerseys can be purchased online from multiple retailers and locally wherever Angel products are sold.

Admittedly, Angel paintball guns are not for everybody who loves paintball. They are, however, arguably, one of the best manufactured markers available.

The biggest deterrent to owning an Angel is the price. Most models list in the $1,000 range. But, if you can come up with that kind of cash then you really can’t go wrong with an Angel.

Angel paintball guns typically come in two styles: semi-automatic and fully automatic. In reality, all Angel models have similar characteristics with only subtle modifications. Since these guns cost so much it make sense to do your homework to find the best Angel marker for your individual needs.

ANGEL ST ARK MARKER
The ST:AR:K is the SUB-Urban Tactical derivative of the World’s fastest paintball marker, the Angel AR:K. Designed to enhance user interface and create optimum shooting stances it will accept most manufacturers’ accessories and bolt on upgrades.

With a honed and polished 12” two piece barrel (2”longer longer than previous models) and a matching offset barrel shroud the marker will now receive both APEX1 and APEX2 tips. Both tip and main barrel sections are ported – making the longer barrel more accurate.

The special ANGEL porting offers one of the quietest ways of shooting a paintball on the battlefield without using a silencer.

The ST:AR:K now gives you four EXTRA Picatinny rails and aggressive, “real feel” styling. The ST:AR:K is designed to not only look like it means business, but deliver a performance package that gives Mil-Sim players the most reliable electro-pneumatic marker with the lowest gas consumption, available today!

But wait…check out the price. This version of the Angel AR:K is about half the price of its’ predecessors at a little over $500. Here’s your opportunity to get one of the best prices ever offered on Angel paintball guns.

Angel AR:K Paintball Gun
One of the primary differences between A1 series guns and the Angel ARK paintball gun series is the sealed breech. The new sealed breech will keep out any type of dirt or debris trying to enter the bolt or breech area of the gun.

The Angel ARK paintball gun comes equipped with a great set of break beam eyes so you will not chop a paintball at even the highest rates of fire. The stock barrel on the Angel AR:K paintball marker is Apex ready which allows you to just clamp on your Apex front and your gun is ready to go!

A color OLED circuit board is included with the Angel ARK paintball gun which has text available in multiple languages. You also get a very durable clamping feed neck that will securely hold your loader in place. Also important to remember is that the Angel ARK paintball gun is specially designed for scenario and woodsball so the gun also comes with a collapsible stock kit.

The Angel ARK is one of the lowest pressure and most efficient guns on the market. It can shoot over a full case of paint from one fill on a 68/4500 tank. The low pressure operation of these Angel paintball guns will also give you reduced recoil and unrivaled accuracy.

The included bolt kit uses a through flow technology which pre-delivers air to the paintball which reduces ball breaks in the breech.
The Angel ARK also comes with a set of removable picatanny rails for the mounting of accessories like flashlights, scopes, lasers and sights.

The stock board in the Angel ARK paintball gun is more adjustable than ever and works off a micro switch sensor. The micro switch is very smooth and will get you high rates of fire that are still fully tournament legal.

WDP Angel FLY SB Paintball Gun Marker
SB stands for “speed ball” which accurately captures the function of these amazing Angel paintball guns. The Angel FLY SB Paintball Gun shoots over 1,800 rounds per tank which simply means that you can shoot more rounds between tank refills.

The FLY SB is high on both consistency in performance and accuracy. The through flow bolt ensures gas is pre-delivered to cushion the ball and prevent breakages. Self cleaning eyes, vent holes in the bolt deliver small quantities of gas with each shot to keep the eyes dirt and debris free ensuring smooth operation.

Preset modes include: Millennium, PSP, Semi, Auto, Demo, and Custom.
Also important to the efficient operation of the marker is the 4-way adjustable magnetic trigger. You can set the trigger for breakaway tension, return strength, start point and stop point.

With the inclusion of a magno valve the Angel Fly SB runs with super-low hammer weights which essentially means, no more springs. Even super fragile paintballs work well with the Fly SB due to the low pressure operation.

As with each Angel series the FLY comes in several different styles featuring minor differences.

Conclusion
For consistent reliability, speed, and accuracy it’s hard to beat an Angel. The bottom line is that Angel paintball guns are a superior product that almost always get high marks from paintball enthusiasts. Without question these markers are expensive but, if you can come up with the money, you won’t be disappointed with your purchase.

When the subject of “best paintball guns” pops up in a discussion among paintball enthusiasts there is seldom a consensus opinion. You would think that you stepped into the middle of a nasty political debate. Quite possibly, the best way for settling the “best paintball guns” debate is on the paintball playing field. But even then, among the losers, there will still be those who refuse to acknowledge that they were defeated because of a superior marker.

In reality, winning is not just about having the superior fire power. The skill of the player is still the most important key to victory. There’s a lot more to paintball than just looking cool or carrying the superior weapon. Oops, called it a “weapon”…which is politically incorrect, although most paintballers are playing out their war fantasies.

Back to the subject of “best paintball guns.” Actually, if you want the very best it’s going to cost you. Some markers sell for as much as $2000 which makes the $1000 Angel guns sound like a bargain. There’s at least one marker, the Breda M37 8mm Machine Gun replica by Real Action Paintball, that will set you back at $4,999. You have to wonder, “why not $5000?” After all, if you can shell out $4,999, then surely you can afford the extra dollar.

So, what do you get for $4,999? The Breda M37 8mm Machine Gun replica by Real Action Paintball is a custom made replica that weighs in at 30 lbs and can fire in semi-automatic, short burst and full auto modes. If you prefer to battle it out in a stationary position with little to know running from barrier to barrier this is the marker for you. You may not win many battles but you will make a lot of noise, fire off a ton of ammo, and impress the heck out of your paintball buddies.

If you want the lightest gun on the market you can pick it up for $1,995. There we go with the pricing game again. It’s not a $2,000 gun but a $1,000 gun. Right! Hand me my credit card. Anyway, for superior ultra lightweight fire power the Planet Exclipse SL74 is one of the finest markers that money can buy. This fantastic marker offers less kick than previous models in the series and even features a mechanism to allow its user to choose between lower pressure and a higher shot count.

For $1,500 you can get a WDP Angel G7 which may well be the fastest paintball gun in the world. It can fire thirty-one pellets per second at a velocity of 300 feet per second. Want to intimidate your single shot buddies? Then this is the gun for you.

At just under $900 another superior gun is the Bob Long Intimidator, or as devoted owners of this marker call it, the Timmy.

So, let’s come down to earth and deal with the reality faced by most of us mere mortals who don’t have thousands of bucks to put down on a paintball gun. What about us? What the best paintball gun for us?

A good case can be made for the Tippmann A-5 that sells for about $150. If you need a reliably accurate marker that is easy to maintain and offers semi-automatic capacity then the Tippmann A-5 is a solid choice.

Part of the fun of paintball is the quest for the ultimate gun. Somewhere in the equation has to be the word “affordable.” What is the most gun you can afford, or your wife will let you buy? In reality, there are a number of markers that qualify as “best paintball guns.” But, let’s face it, the real quest remains on the field of battle. There is where we make the best…with what we’ve got. What’s that? Was I just taken out with a $50 Spyder Victor?
